| | Vista Ultimate 64-bit + FireFox + Java Plugin I just installed 64-bit Vista Ultimate on my PC. I'm using 32-bit FireFox. I went to Sun's website to download Java. I used the offine installer, but the Java plugin doesn't seem to be working. When I go to websites that require the Java browser plugin, I get a blank page or a message saying I need to install Java. Anyone have a fix for this? Is there a fix for this? |

You didn't say which version of Java you were using. Installing both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Java solves most problems. Alun Harford |

| | Re: Vista Ultimate 64-bit + FireFox + Java Plugin 64 bit java doesn't do anything does it? I installed it on my Vista 64 installation and no java worked. Installed the 32bit version and everything worked OK. | Vista Home Premium x64 | Re: Vista Ultimate 64-bit + FireFox + Java Plugin Had a similar problem with FireFox 3.0.7 , Java 6.0_12-b04: Java Applets were blank. Vista x64, Java Plugin in Internet Explorer worked just fine. Couldn't find a solution on the net. Futzed for a while and found that you need to do the following: 1) go to the Java Control Panel (search to find out how) 2) Advanced | Java Plug-in 3) _Disable_ "Enable the next-generation Java Plug-in (requires browser restart)" 4) Make sure to enable Mozilla family in Default Java for browsers Hope this helps someone! |
