Windows mail

I have Vista business on my new PC and am impressed.
The only problem I have is that when I load Windows mail, it immediately
stops responding and then reloads prefect. This happens every time.
Any ideas of what is wrong please

Um, what Anti-Virus & Firewall program are you using? There might be a conflict with one of them not allowing Windows mail to login in to your mail server fast enough causing a timeout or other problem. Check the settings in each for anything to do with e-mail.

If all else fails, you can always use System Restore to rollback to a known good state.

Many thanks for the advice.
I use the Windows built in firewall, and a firewall in my router. I also
use AVG virus software.
Windows mail loads for say 1 second, then ceases to respond, the reloads.
All over within about 10 seconds

Well I use Windows firewall too with no problems. However, I use Avast Home Edition instead of AVG. ?? Was there anything that you updated or installed right before this started happening? System restore or use the REPAIR option from Vista installation DVD if all else fails you.

Re: Windows mail

install
WMUtil from
oehelp.com and use the repair data base tools to possibly fix it.

Re: Windows mail

That's it......you go in my kill file. HTML is just unacceptable on a newsgroup.

Re: Windows mail

1. Your post is HTML.
2. HTML is allowed on this (Microsoft) newsgroup.
3. I doubt if mikeyhsd cares about whether or not you see his posts.

Set your program to read in plain text only. And uncheck 'reply in format
message was sent'.

Hi Saucy, Thank you for the reply, I have done as you have suggested. ( I
really hope I have done this right)
It was a case of my first time using a newsgroup and guess I just messed up
a little.
