| | Re: VISTA = Visual Interface Similar To Apple Not to defend Justin, but maybe he just has a really sweet job of baby sitting servers. Back in my Army days I use to work the 6pm-6am shift during Persian Gulf 1 and since we didn't have Internet access back then, I spent most of my time playing video games and watching CNN. Unless I got a call from a user that their PC crashed, it was a pretty easy job (except the working 7 days on 2 days off part) of doing a whole lot of anything I wanted. We had lots of different hardware to play on and the Army pockets ran deep if you want to by new stuff When I got out of the Army, I worked a similar job for a support office to the Army, I worked the 3p-11p shift, we had about 2-3 hours of work to do, the rest was babysitting servers and doing whatever we wanted. So maybe he's just got the right job at the right time of day "Justin" <None@None.com> wrote in message news:eh2e4yHjHHA.2120@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... > "Terry" <F1ComNOSPAM@pobox.com> wrote in message > news:O8bUhlHjHHA.4300@TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl... >> On 5/1/2007 9:55 PM On a whim, Adam Albright pounded out on the keyboard >> >>> On Tue, 1 May 2007 21:42:27 -0700, "Justin" <None@None.com> wrote: >>> >>>> "Terry" <F1ComNOSPAM@pobox.com> wrote in message >>>> news:Oo5GhxFjHHA.3264@TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... >>>>> On 5/1/2007 5:26 PM On a whim, Adam Albright pounded out on the >>>>> keyboard >>>>> >>>>>> On Tue, 1 May 2007 14:03:27 -0700, "Justin" <None@None.com> wrote: >>>>>> >>>>>>> "Jooter" <mpmvchangFoulspambegone@optusnet.com.au> wrote in message >>>>>>> news:mpmvchangFoulspambegone-56888D.04293702052007@freenews.iinet.net.au... >>>>>>>> VISTA = Visual Interface Similar To Apple >>>>>>> I have more then 20 Mac guys upstairs that disagree with you. Now, I know you will call me a liar, idiot, and whatever else you can dream up at the moment, but I am just pointing out that posts 'appearing' to be from the same place all the time doesn't mean you are at that location all the time. Look at any of my headers in our last long, drawn out argument, they are all coming from the same place. But, from 8AM until 5PM on weekdays I am at work. It's pretty easy to use Remote Desktop, or VNC, or PCA to log onto your home PC and post from there. > 4. You guys will miss me tomorrow. I have an all day MS launch even > to go to. Longhorn Server + Vista + System Center + Forefront = Rocking the IT industry. I know what you're probably thinking and NO! I'm not saying this because of the open bar, all you can eat sushi bar, the one too many Jell-O shots or because of the SMOKIN HOT raffle ticket picking hotties. For some reason they rocked this launch a little more then the Vista launch. Maybe because of the limited size. |

Someone has to be there at all times. A 12 hour day is not uncommon for me however I only actually work 8-10 hours. The average two hours is spent on-call (while physically there). However, instead of sitting on my rear for a straight two hours, I flex it out. |
