Vista - No "Open Classic for more colors" (flip 3D issues)

it seems like i have the same problem as everyone else
i have looked on all the different posts and this is what i've done:
windows+tab
alt+tab
personalization>window color and appearance>(however I do not have the
option of "open classic for me differnt for more colors". all i have is the
different color scheme box. I click on the Windows Aero and when i go back
to it, it has returned to Windows Vista Basic)
i have also exitted out of Quicktime
aww.. i dont know where to go from here..
please help.

figures it out.. too all those like me..
make sure that you cancel all unneccessary programs from the bottom right
tool bar and try to reset through windows appearance.
