| | Sound problem Clean installed this OS and now having a problem with sound reproduction through the Media Center and also Nero 7. Using Creative X-Fi sound card with Vista drivers and they work OK when playing recordings using Media Player and Real Player. However, after setting up Media Center with my spearker format, then and playing music retained on my hard drive (separate from the OS drive), it sounds as though it is playing underwater. Return to Control Panel/Sounds and set the speakers up as instructed makes no difference. Any suggestions gratefully received. -- Alandale Internet: http://www.oakleyvillage.co.uk -- Posted via a free Usenet account from http://www.teranews.com |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Hi David, In your "Sound" and/or other audio settings, check and see if you have any sound effects checked by mistake. I did this one time monkeying around and everything sounded like a echo chamber until I woke up and fixed it. Hope this helps, Shawn |

It's odd that it is occurring within Media Centre and now also Nero Home, but does not occur in Medioa Player or Quicktime. -- Alandale -- Posted via a free Usenet account from http://www.teranews.com |

I don't use the Media Center, and I don't have any problems with audio. Might check further into the settings on Media Center to see if that's the issue. Check for newer drivers for your audio and motherboard chipset. Sorry, wish I could help more on it but I'm unfamiliar with Media Center. Shawn |
