| | nVidia Drivers and Samsung Monitor I don't know if this will help anyone, but since my Samsung SyncMaster 997DF isn't a PnP monitor I went to Samsung's Website and downloaded their monitor driver. I was finally able to get 1280x1024. The only problem with this, is that Vista never saves the information, I'm stuck at 800x600 at every reboot. nVidia hangs a boot up. I have a pixelated bar at the bottom of the screen right before I get to the log in screen. This happend on the x86 version as well as the x64 version. Something to do with Windows 2000 miniport adapter. And a quick question. How do I log in as a straight Administrator? With Windows XP you could hit ctrl + alt + del twice at the log in screen and use a Windows NT login, but it doesn't work with Vista. |

| | RE: nVidia Drivers and Samsung Monitor I am also using an Nvidia card with a samsung monitor. I downloaded the video drivers directly from Nvidia and haven't been having any problems like you described. My biggest issue is whenever the computer goes into screen saver or sleep mode the video driver crashes when I wake it back up. It always recovers safely, but depending on what I had running I have to restart a lot of programs.
