Vista - Can XP Themes be used with Vista?

If I download XP desktop themes, will they display with Vista Home Premium?

Hi Ryka,

No. I wish it could be. Vista uses the ".theme" file extension for a staight pick and choose like Screen Savers. There is a program call "WindowsBlinds" that can do it for 32-bit Vista's or XP only, but it's not free. It will have a variety of themes. Here's a link for more details on it if your interested :

There's just not anything really out there yet since Vista is still so new. Time will fix that though.

In addition to the other suggestion, I would suggest WebShots. They have
lots of lo-rez images for free that will be placed on your desktop-490
million. They can be set to change at your convenience. You can even insert
your own images. http://www.webshots.com/

Thanks to you replies! I had Style XP on my last computer and it was great,
but it doesn't seem to work with Vista. Webshots seems to give me the
variety I like.
