Windows XP Drivers on Vista

Hello,

Does/Will Windows XP Drivers work with Vista?

We have a Intel SE7525GP2 Server Board and there are no Vista Drivers for
it. We are trying to find if LSI has drivers for the SATA onboard
controller.

Thanks

Hi Carel,

It's a hit and miss situation. Some will, some will not. Never know till you try. I managed to use a 64-bit XP driver for my webcam on 64-bit Vista Home Premium. If they don't work, just uninstall them.

Of course, it's better to use Vista drivers, or the default driver Vista may assign it.

Good luck,
Shawn

Re: Windows XP Drivers on Vista

The more important question is: will Vista drivers work under Vista?

Re: Windows XP Drivers on Vista

As long as they are not from HP, which is a total disaster.

Some do some don't, it all depends on the hardware item. Your best bet
is to test it. Good luck.

RE: Windows XP Drivers on Vista

I have an Intel board that had XP IDE drivers for it installed. If I
uninstalled them XP ran fine anyway but an error message appeared in device
manager. Due to other problems, I did a clean install of Vista on a fresh
drive without the drivers and Vista didn't even blink. They may not be needed.
