Outlook on Vista

To synchronize my mobile device I need Outlook. When using outlook 2002, or
synchronizing my mobile, vista keeps popping up a window asking me to allow
a program (obviously outlook) have access to e-mail addresses. Answering No,
locks up outlook and Yes gives me maximum 10 minutes time before a new
window pops up with the same question. Returning to the PC after half an
hour break, a stack of over 20 windows with the same questions waits for the
same answer. Ctrl Alt Del is the only sensible way out of this mess.
In addition there is no way of storing pass words for my e-mail accounts.

Have anyone tried Novell Evolution on vista and synchronized with a mobile.
If it works, it would be a great relief to throw out outlook.

PS. Have anyone run Quickbooks on Linux?
