| Guest | Re: shrink window around desktop icon You can change the space used when you mouse over an icon by tweaking the setting in the appearance settings. Right click the Desktop and select Personalize. Click Window color and appearance and then Open classic appearance properties. Click the Advanced button. In the Item drop down menu, adjust the size of the Icon Spacing (Horizontal) and Icon Spacing (Vertical) to suit what you want. -- Ronnie Vernon Microsoft MVP Windows Shell/User "dwolf" <jojonospam@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:uSEhqFKlHHA.4900@TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl... > When you mouse over a desktop icon the highlighted size is too big.. if > you keep your icons close they overlap.. can that be tweaked ? |

| Guest | Re: shrink window around desktop icon That doesn't change the mouse over window that appears.. that just takes care of the actual space between icons.. which I have set to go where ever I want them.. | Guest | Re: shrink window around desktop icon dwolf There are some other things you can do that make it easier to organize the desktop icons. You can adjust the icon size by holding down the CTRL key and using the scroll wheel on the mouse. You can also reduce the Font type and size for icons in the advanced settings that I referred to earlier. -- Ronnie Vernon Microsoft MVP Windows Shell/User "dwolf" <jojonospam@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:OxsbiNNlHHA.568@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... > Actually by setting the spacing to 0 does make it better... thanks.. and > even if it didn't work thanks too.. > > "Ronnie Vernon MVP" <rv@invalid.org> wrote in message > news:F17AD1B9-99B6-4D29-9CC6-225F5E80A653@microsoft.com... >> You can change the space used when you mouse over an icon by tweaking the >> setting in the appearance settings. >> >> Right click the Desktop and select Personalize.
