Vista Tutorial - can't select text in word 2007 vista

T60p lenovo new, vista home premium, everything fine then - after last auto
update- can not select text in word 2007 with touch pad or with usb mouse. I
can move cursor with arrows. I can move mouse arrow to control functions and
it works in other programs.

Tried restore functions to last four restore points but none would complete
successfully.

Hmm, is this a Norto nissue, word issue, or simply wrath of the tech gods?

Love to have an approach. Yes everything is new, updated, legal and worked
for 3 weeks.

Did you ever get an answer to your question about not being able to select text in word?

I had the same problem an just like you it was after a upgrade from Microsoft.

I think the upgrade ends by resetting the mouse to some default mouse they have.

The first time it happened to me I solved it by trying differnet mice until one worked.

This time it is harder. I went into the control panel to make sure the system understood what mouse I had but that does not seem to solve the problem. It only happens in word so it is specific to the code in word or the resets they made when they upgraded our version of word.

What have you found out?
