| | Customizing start menu I'm trying to customize the start menu. I knew how to do this in XP. I don't know how this works in Vista. The "all users" group seeems to be gone. |

The new location in Vista for the all users start menu is: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu. You can click Start and then right click All Programs and select Explore All Users and get to the same location. The user specific start menu folder is in C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu. Malke -- Elephant Boy Computers www.elephantboycomputers.com "Don't Panic!" I use Vista Start Menu program instant of system menu. http://www.vistastartmenu.com |

| | Re: Customizing start menu I'm mystified by the Vista Start Menu and All Programs list. I created a folder within All Programs called Programs, where I've consolidated most programs and reduce clutter. When I right click and select Explore All Users, the list I see looks correct. However, when I click the Start button, the extra Programs group is missing, as are several of folders I see in the Explore All Users list. I'm confused.
