Need Help Reformatting Hard Drive

Hi,

I have a Dell XPS1710 that I want to reformat the hard drive on. I'm not
interested in using System Restore and I'm not interested in restoring back
to factory condition. How can I completely reformat and reinstall using the
DVD that came with my system? Running Vista Ultimate.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: Need Help Reformatting Hard Drive

I might be wrong but I think that all you need to do is just boot to the
install DVD and then follow the prompts. It will probably give you the
option to wipe the partition and start from scratch. If not then you could
just boot the computer from a bootable system disk (3.5 floppy) or a
bootable system CD and run fdisk and format from there. This is assuming
that you already have a good backup.

Good luck.
