    Is Silverlight a Flash/Java replacement?

Is Silverlight meant to replace Flash and (or) Java? I uninstalled Java and
Flash, installed Silverlight...but websites tell me I need to install Adobe
    Flash.

It's a competing format, not interchangeable, so you still need Flash.
