Vista - Programs wont load

I have had my new Dell pc with vista premium for about a month now but can
you tell me why, if you are using and application(word etc or checking your
Antivirus) you then decide to open another program and nothing happens. The
other selected program will not load until I reboot.This also applies to
Autoplay. I have ticked the right boxes but a lot of the time a CD will not
open

Was there ever a time when it was working properly? If so, use System
Restore to go back to that period in time. If that fixes it, try to remember
what applications you installed along the way...one of them may be the
culprit.

Or try disabling some or all of the applications that load
automatically...like your anti-virus or anti-malware application (use
"msconfig") and see if that makes a difference.

If it worked that way out of the box then your PC is defective...call Dell
tech support and ask to return it for a new one (good luck with that). Come
to think of it, rather than subject yourself to tech support right away,
first use the recovery disks that came with it and do a clean re-install of
Vista.
