new browser shell that puts ie7 to shame..

If you hate the IE7 interface, you are not alone.. that is the number 1
complaint about the new MS browser.
However there are alternatives:

http://www.ioage.com/en/product.htm VERY GOOD!!!!! ( and Free)

the design is simple effective and customizable. *something that IE7 needs
big time.*

The ram needed is small, its fast and has many options!

The rendering is ie7's so you have compatibility.

Many skins on the site, some that are really well done! Some make it even
look like firefox or media player 11..

I have only one complaint, that the tabs cannot be layed out to have
multiple rows like FF can do with an extension or that avantbrowser has
built in. Ill send them the feedback as soon as possibe so they can add that
feature.. no doubt THEY will listen to what people want, in comparison to
the arrogance the IE designers showed in the layout of ie7.

GOOD SHOW!!! I see a future in this one...

This is a good browser. Who built it? All of the links to sources goes to
sites in Chinese, it appears.

I like clean, neat, fast, functional software. Unfortunately, bloatware is
Corporate Dreamware.

Re: new browser shell that puts ie7 to shame..

Did you see the zipped version? its just an exe that you can run without
even installing anything!

If you go to the settings and then advance it has 2 links that send you to
the site and forum..

it is in Chinese or Japanese or Korean or something like that.. They are new
it seems...
I sent them an email asking them to include English in the forums so we can
contribute to its evolution.

2 other browsers you might want to check out that are of similar nature are:
www.avantbrowser.com and www.maxthon.com (version 2)

I personally use avantbrowser ..and I have tested all browsers known to
mankind.. :-)
FireFox is my second browser, I use it too alongside with avant.
I think Maxton is also Japanese.. or something like that...

Another very good Korean software that puts media player 11 to shame is
Gomplayer
www.gomplayer.com

if the orient countries start producing software with the same quality and
professionalism that they show
in the automotive and electronics industry.. I see them taking over.... they
are very smart and industrious...
they learn fast and have a good balance between efficiency, features and
beauty-elegance.

Not necessarily unbiased (website hosts the download) review of v2.0 RC1
(beta) from 04 Apr-07:
http://www.softpedia.com/reviews/win...ew-51204.shtml

NB: No user reviews.

Red Flag IMHO: English-language Help/FAQ page still under construction
(http://www.ioage.com/en/help.htm).

Maxthon is Chinese and supposedly very popular there. So popular that Google has expressed and interest
in it:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maxthon

I personally prefer Avant as well. While very similar I found Avant's user interface more customizable.

When you went to Task Manager to go check on memory usage, did you also
add the VMsize column so you could check on the *total* memory
consumption which includes pagefile space (virtual memory)? I'm curious
regarding the actual consumption.

Interesting license agreement they have, if you bother to read it.

"TheWorld is free for personal, home use."

Well, that pretty much puts the kibosh on it ever seeing more than a
miniscule number of people using it. Can't use it at work. Can't use
it at school. Can't use it anywhere but on your own personal computer
and which can never be within a corporate or other non-personal network
environment. Guess they want an extremely small customerbase (who all
speak Chinese to use their forums) since they are just starting.

I tend to think the unspoken message is: It's not free for business use.

>Guess they want an extremely small customerbase (who all speak Chinese to

It's a practical approach for any product to start with its home market and
roll over to foreign markets, be it MS, Intel, GM, Ford, Toyota, Honda,
Louis Vuttton, Christine Dior...

If one can't handle the home market, don't even bother to think foreign
markets. But since it provides English version, it might have more things
in mind.

I never used the browser but I do know the existence of Phoenix Studio which
to me is a mystery.

Just to share.

Is this really a standalone browser, or a wrapper for IE?
