Windows help and support wont work

    Windows help and support wont work

    Hello i need help, everytime i click on help and support from the start menu,
    i get an error message saying "internet explorer cannot download from /Help"

    Does anyone have a solution.

    I have vista ultimate, just updated malicious software tool, latest update
    on windows defender and am running avg server edition antivirus

    Hi Matt --

    This has come up a lot on these groups.

    Do this:

    If you have been getting the dreaded "Internet Explorer cannot download /
    from help" error message when attempting to open Help and Support in Windows
    Vista, try this fix. It re-associates the .xml file type with its default
    settings. Once you've merged this into the registry, re-launch Help and
    Support and it should work.

    This happens if the "Content Type" setting for .PNG file types is broken. Download a REG file from Daniel Martin's site here:

    http://winvista.mvps.org/Ficheros/PNG.reg

    Download and save it to Desktop. Right-click on the file and choose Merge.

    If that does not help, see here for a another fix.
