Administrator Privileges

Hi Guys,
have a problem, maybe you could shed some light on it. I am using Vista
Home Premium. When I set it up I did not make a separate account so I just
have one account as the Administrator. I have installed a program to
create another partition, but when I go to use the program it will not let
me, it says the following:

Paragon Partition Manager requires administrative privileges access to your
system.
Please contact your System Administrator to solve to problem.

How do I solve this problem, help and advice much appreciataed
Thanks
Bob

Re: Administrator Privileges

Hello,

On Windows Vista, even though you are logged in as an administrator,
programs are not allowed to use your administrator power unless they
ask you for permission ("Windows needs your permission to continue").

You can force a program to run with your admin power by right-clicking
on it and clicking Run As Administrator.

I would also be wary of using any disk management tools that aren't
reported as compatible with Vista.

Re: Administrator Privileges

Hi,

Right click it, use 'run as administrator'. Just because an account has
administrative privileges does not mean it runs elevated. This is by design
to prevent unwanted system intrusions.

Are you aware the Windows Vista has all the Disk Partitioning tools built in?
You can make or delete any partition you need.
