Vista - Vista Mapping Drives Like Crazy

I have a logon script that uses net use to map S:\ and U:\ to two different
server shares. I added a Vista machine to the network a few months ago and
just today it started getting a little loopy with drive mappings. F through Z
are all mapped when it should only be S:\ and U:\. I've disconnected all
those extra drive letters, but they returned.

You could enhance your logon script to remove any superfluous drive mappings
when it runs.

When I restart the computer all of the drive mappings are gone, except for
the ones that are supposed to be there. It's now 6 hours later and Vista has
R-Z mapped. I won't be surprised if F-Z are mapped by the end of the day.

Are the scripts .bat files? I found some references to problems mapping
drives in Vista with a .bat file. It concerns UAC. I don't pretend to
understand it but my search on "login script to map drives in Vista"
got me to this site:

Not exactly what you are experiencing but it does indicate there is a
problem mapping drives with a script in Vista.
