Vista - Windows Boot Manager

Vista 64

I ran the memory test and now every time I boot up I get the Windows Boot
Manager Screen. How do I get rid of it?

You don't say what entries are on the boot options screen but I assume the
Memory Test must be one. In any case, delete the entry that you don't want
so that only one OS is showing and then you should not see the boot options
screen anymore. I suggest that you download and use VistaBootPro to do the
editing. (There is no boot.ini file for Vista in case you were trying to
find it.)

There are a total of 2 OSes installed into the boot manager.
Current timeout before default boots: 30 seconds.
Default OS: Microsoft Windows

Entry #1

Name: Earlier version of Windows
BCD ID: {ntldr}
Boot Drive: C:
Windows Drive:
System Bootloader: \ntldr
Done that. The boot loader shows

Windows Directory:

Entry #2

Name: Microsoft Windows
BCD ID: {current}
Boot Drive: C:
Windows Drive: C:
System Bootloader: \Windows\system32\winload.exe
Windows Directory: \Windows

This shows a second operating system loaded when all I have asked for is a
one off test. I would expect that after completing the test the boot loader
should have been restored to normal. Is this going to happen if I ask for a
Disk Check?

Anyway as suggested I deleted the earlier version of windows and the system
boots normally. Thanks.

Is Vista x64 the only installed OS on this machine? It does not look like
it. It looks like XP is installed and you are dualbooting.

If you do not have anything but the OS for entry #2 you can delete entry #1.
I use VistaBootPro for this sort of thing because of its GUI. Once there is
only one entry you will not see the boot options screen on startup.
