| | Problems with Folder Redirection with Windows Vista We use the group policy to redirect the users home folder (\\server \home\%username%) and when a user logs on from a Vista machine it is renaming their %username% folder to documents. This obviously poses a problem since I can't have a home directory folder where all of the folder names are documents. Does anyone know how to get around this or why it happens? Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Mark B. |

| | RE: Problems with Folder Redirection with Windows Vista Hi Mark I have exactly the same issue. The path behind the documents folders is always correct. But it is not administrable to check the path for each folder, if you search a users home folder. regards Chris "benintendi.1@gmail.com" wrote: > We use the group policy to redirect the users home folder (\\server > \home\%username%) and when a user logs on from a Vista machine it is > renaming their %username% folder to documents. | | Re: Problems with Folder Redirection with Windows Vista I was seeing the same thing, and the only way I could get around it was to use: \\SERVER\Home\%USERNAME%\documents If the docs folder doesn't exist in the home share, it will create one. -Shawn |
