| | Easy Transfer not transferring User Profiles When I ran the Windows Easy Transfer Companion (WETC) from an XP Pro to a Vista Business, the programs transferred over fine but none of the user profiles did. During the inital WETC on the XP, it never asked what to transfer - it just listed the programs it was transferring. I've was going to try running it again (against MS recommendation) but I still don't get any opportunity to select what I want transferred. It now just gives me the key to enter into the new Vista computer and does not even list programs let alon user profiles. Does anyone know how to transfer user profiles from XP to Vista if WETC won't do it? |

| | Re: Easy Transfer not transferring User Profiles It does not appear to be available anymore. Since it was pre-release software there is no way to tell if the project was scrapped or a release candidate or rtm version will still appear. All links to the Download Details page that I can find are disabled and have been for several weeks. At this point don't plan on using it. In the meantime I will check with some sources and report back if there is anything definitive to report.
