| | My Vista Experience is good! Hi all, I installed the public beta on my PC thats in my living room hooked up to the TV. I have no other monitor. To my surprise Media Centre was installed with Vista by default. I've hooked it all up - set up the media centre and I can now pause live TV, schedule recording etc etc - I was not able to get that working in XP with the Hauppauge software (or properly in ubuntu with Freevo OR MythTV) Everything worked on my TV by default - it's brilliant. I use the Linksys CIT200 Skype DECT phones as my home phone - I have 2 of them. One upstairs and one downstairs. The most recent skype beta is installed and the linksys software installed and runs in XP compatibility mode. It all works brilliantly. Vista has crashed once - when I was browsing shared videos on an XP machine using the Media Centre. Thats the only trouble I've had with it. My graphics card is an NVIDIA FX5200 - everything was setup and working by default after Vista was installed. No complaints here. Well done Bill - I've been an ubuntu user for the past 12 months and you've won me back Grats |
