Unable to set up Network Printer in Vista

I have Vista installed on a newly built desktop PC, and am unable to connect
to a networked printer connected to an Open Networks 625W Modem Router.
Previously I had Vista installed on my old PC and I had no problem connecting
to the printer. My XP Lap Top can still access the printer wirelessly and
cable connected. I can ping the printer and am able to connect to the Print
Server via the IP address and print a test page from there. I can set the
printer up (Lexmark E230) in Vista using the IP Address and it installs OK,
but when printing a test page, it errors. I have set up exceptions for the IP
address in PCCillin and even tried disabling it, but still no good. Any
assistance would be appreciated.
