Vista - how do i get 5.1 surround

ime very new to this computer thing but know a little. ime trying to get my
comp to play in 5.1 surround. i bought a set of logitech x530 speakers nd set
them up but only the 2 front speakers and subwoofer are working. ive gone
into every possible option on the comp but nothing gives me an option to
choose 5.1. its stays in stereo or 2 channel. i have realtek via ac'97 to
operate sound. and i hav windows vista premium. i looked on the net at my
motherboard manual and it says my card has the option of 2 channel or 6
channel but cant find anywhere to change it. ive also tried installing new
drivers but they dont seem to work once there downloaded, maybe ime doing
sumthing wrong there?

check Control Panel SOUNDS to see if you have a way to turn on 5.1

You may have to change mode in the BIOS.
