Too funny for words. You admit "never seen one of those" (fairly
common) yet harp on the person reporting the very thing you say you
know nothing about. Being such a clueless Putz must be a real bummer.

>Vista .. separating Men from Boys

You got a point there. Men acknowledge things when they go wrong,
little boys just whine, yell, stamp their feet and call for their
mommy and usually end up being ignorant fanboys that worship Microsoft
no matter what. Got of lot of those jerks in this newsgroup.

Re: Bring back ME!

It was the crap they added to Win98 that created
that pathetic excuse of an OS called WinME. It
was a lame attempt at milking more money out of
a dying code base.

I've got two external USB hard drives, a Seagate and a WD, that I've plugged
into numerous PC's running Vista and have never received that error. If
you're getting that error each and every time you plug in a USB device then
one would have to assume there's something wrong with the USB subsystem in
one fashion or another.

As to HP saying it's Vista's fault... lol, the HP laptop came with Vista
pre-installed? Then, uh, yes, it's HP's responsibility to support your
efforts at troubleshooting this issue, not Microsoft's.

As others have written... take it back for a new laptop.
