Setting up 'Sound' devices in Vista

Dear Group,

I've seen a number of postings around this subject but none that seem
to address this very issue. Is it possible to enable more than one
device (ie it shows as "working" rather than "currently unavailable")
in one of the tabs of the Sound Devices config window? If not, it's
something of a problem methinks!

Looking forward to a solution!

RE: Setting up 'Sound' devices in Vista

Hi Richard,

I have read you question a few times and maybe the early hour of the morning
has clouded my brain but are you asking if you can run 2 sound devices in
your computer ( either onboard sound plus sound card or 2 sound cards ) is
this correct ?

Hi Bob,

It's a bit more messy than that. Under 'Recording Devices' I have
'Microphone', 'Rear Mic' and 'Line In' listed. The only way to get one
of these devices listed as 'Working' is to (a) set it to default and
then (b) change the setting in 'Levels' (from anything to anything)!
The next problem is that when the machine is next started the device
listed as 'Working' may have changed! I don't know why I shouldn't be
able to have
all of them working?

Hope you've some ideas.

Richard

Re: Setting up 'Sound' devices in Vista

I believe this is what he is asking.

The answer is no. I tried it myself so that Vista would translate music
through both headphones jack and Bluetooth but you can't.
