| | why can not microsoft give new keys why can not microsoft give new keys,to vista users instead of the phone, why is it that when u activated a few times u then av'e to use the phone, would it not be easy just to send a new activation key direct to the users pc,it would be alot simpler, than giving your 25 digit product code every time u activate vista. Since av'e installed vista i think av'e activated about 10 times. Why is vista so sesitive to hardware changes. THANKS IQON |

I added a CD RW to mine and didn't have to reactivate it. -- Steve Easton "iqon" <iqon@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:3674CBCA-47A4-4B21-9804-839D5490994E@microsoft.com... > why can not microsoft give new keys,to vista users instead of the phone, why > is it that when u activated a few times u then av'e to use the phone, would it > not be easy just to send a new activation key direct to the users pc,it would > be alot simpler, than giving your 25 digit product code every time u activate > vista. | | Re: why can not microsoft give new keys Once I figured out how to make dual channel DDR actually work as dual channel, I moved the RAM around to enable dual channel, and upgraded the 128MB Video Card to a 256MB one. I didn't add or remove any RAM, just changed the slots it was in. Poof, you have to reactivate...this copy of Vista has already been activated the maximum number of times... Some may say a phone call is no big deal, I say it is bull excrement. For someone who buys a machine & never touches the guts, it may be OK. For anyone who actually uses their system for something other than an email appliance, it's a load of crap.
