| | Transfer files from vista back to xp? I used easy transfer to transfer files from my old xp laptop to my new vista laptop several weeks ago. Now I have a hardware problem with my new vista laptop and need to send it bakc to IBM. They will need to re-image the hard drive on the vista laptop. I need to transfer my files and settings back to my old laptop before I send to IBM, but am not sure how to do this. I tried to setup easy transfer to work in the "opposite" direction, but it still looked like it was going to transfer everything from xp to vista, which seems like it would overwrite everything that I have added and modified on the new laptop. Any ideas on how to transfer the files back? I thought about getting a harddrive enclosure for the vista hard drive and manually transferring the files, but this is expensive ($40) and I'm not sure I will get all the files I need. |
