Vista - This problem was caused by Ati2evxx.exe Help anyone?

Hi.

I have a problem with my new computer: Every time when I startup the machine
I get this message:

Problem caused by Ati2evxx.exe (Use System Configuration Utility to prevent
this from running at startup)

This problem was caused by Ati2evxx.exe (Use System Configuration Utility to
prevent this from running at startup). This program was created by ATI
Technologies, Inc.. ATI Technologies, Inc. does not currently have a solution
for the problem that you reported.


I can´t quite figure out how to prevent this program from running. Could
anyone guide me through this task step by step?

What MS is advising is that you run the program msconfig as an administrator
and prevent the startup of the named program.

(Windows Key/R, type in msconfig, OK, continue, click on startup tab, in the
startup item column there should be an entry for Ati2evxx.exe. Unselect
(remove tick mark) from that entry.

When you restart, that program will no longer be automatically started.

That may get rid of the error message but you probably actually need to
update the video drivers for your ATI card. Do that by going to the ATI web
site and checking for updated drivers. Note that updating ATI drivers is not
always a easy thing. If you are not having additional problems with your
system and the above gets rid the nagging error you might just leave well
enough alone.
