| | Snipping tool and MS Outlook 2007 When I first used the Snipping tool and asked it to send to an email recipient, the Windows Mail email client started running the new account wizard. I ran it to completion but I want it to use MS Outlook 2007 which is my default email program. I used the 'default programs' tool to set Outlook 2007 as the default for all email functions. Now when I use the snipping tool to send to an email recipient, it does nothing. How do I get it to start a new email in Outlook 2007. Thanks Mike |

| | Re: Snipping tool and MS Outlook 2007 Not sure how to reset it's email behaviour but just save the snip and then add it as an attachment in Outlook. | | Re: Snipping tool and MS Outlook 2007 Thanks, I realise I can save the snip and then attach it, but I shouldn't need to. There must be a way! Will do some registry digging :-) "Mac" <mac@nospam.com> wrote in message news:eR32WhSqHHA.5032@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... > Not sure how to reset it's email behaviour but just save the snip and then > add it as an attachment in Outlook. > > "Michael Taylor" <mike@(nospam)mtcs.ltd.uk> wrote in message > news:C54AA54E-3886-410C-8686-3555AFDB8760@microsoft.com... >> When I first used the Snipping tool and asked it to send to an email >> recipient, the Windows Mail email client started running the new account >> wizard. | | Re: Snipping tool and MS Outlook 2007 I found some keys at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\TabletPC\Snipping Tool. It also appears at another location, forget where though. Anyway, there are a couple of interesting Dwords - SendTo and NotFirstRun. Mine are both set to decimal 1. I will adjust these and see if it affects sending to Outlook. | | Re: Snipping tool and MS Outlook 2007 Changing the registry keys made no difference so I guess I found the wrong ones. There's an option to always copy what you clip to the clipboard, so it's easy enough to hit paste when in a new html email, so no messing around with saving it to a file and then attaching it.
