| | How to transfer the folders in Outlook Express 6 to Windows Mail I am trying to transfer all the folders and messages in Outlook Express 6 to Windows Mail which is installed on Vista-based computer. However, it seems like the Windows Mail is different from Outlook Express 6. All the messages in Outlook Express are saved in DBX format, which is not recognized by Windows Mail. Is there anyone could help me on that? Thank you. |

| | Re: How to transfer the folders in Outlook Express 6 to Windows Mail I followed these instructions and have an accessible folder containing all of the dbx files found on the old machine. However, when I go to import them, get to the stage where I browse to the folder. When I get to that folder, it shows an empty folder with the message that "No Items Match Your Search". When I look at the folder using explorer, the files are all there and all have the .dbx extension. Does anybody know why I cannot see these files for importing? Thanks, Randy |

| | Re: How to transfer the folders in Outlook Express 6 to Windows Mail Yes. Don't open the last folder that contains the .dbx files. This will cause a duplicate folder name in the path. -- http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview "reastland" <reastland.329tj2@xxxxxx-mx.forums.net> wrote in message news:reastland.329tj2@xxxxxx-mx.forums.net... | | Re: How to transfer the folders in Outlook Express 6 to Windows Mail Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, that's not the problem. The path that I'm using is "C:\Users\(default)\Documents\Outlook Express Data", which is what is showing in the folder location field. No matter how I adjust this, it still can't find any of the .dbx files. There are no duplicate folders in the selected path. Any other reasons that this won't work? Thanks again! Randy |

| | Re: How to transfer the folders in Outlook Express 6 to Windows Ma When you browse only go down to the folder holding the dbx files. Don't open it. It should work then -- Paul "mmumbai4u" wrote: Quote: > > I followed these instructions and have an accessible folder containing > all of the dbx files found on the old machine.
