Vista Tutorial - Instant Messenger Issues with Microsoft Vista

I have a new Toshiba Satellite A205-S4577 with Vista Home Premium. I'm
experiencing a strange issue during IM voice conversations using Messenger
Live, Yahoo etc. If I start a voice chat using an inbuilt microphone and then
switch to using a headphone during the session, the recipient at the other
end cannot hear my voice...however I can hear the recipient's voice. The
problem gets solved only by disconnecting and then connecting to a new
session. Similar problem exists when using a headphone initially and then
switching to using the inbuilt microphone. Appreciate any help on the same.

start with the one you want to use, don't switch horses in midstream.
