| | File Transfer delema Just bought a new Dell PC, with Vista Home Premium. Took the Hard drive out of my old PC, which was running LINUX, and put it into an external hard drive shell. When I connect the external drive to my PC and power up the new PC sees it in the device manager but not in My Computer. Is there a program I can use to transfer the files I need from the extrnal drive to the new PC? |

| | Re: File Transfer delema Hi, You need something that will allow Windows to read the ext2/ext3 file system on the Linux drive. Here is one such tool: http://sourceforge.net/projects/ext2fsd -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org My thoughts http://rick-mvp.blogspot.com "Oldspice" <Oldspice@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:C9D21A9D-DC0E-4CF7-8504-A468DC5D4568@microsoft.com... > Just bought a new Dell PC, with Vista Home Premium. I believe there is an ext2/3 driver for MS and a reiser read-only driver - I have no idea whether or not they would work with vista. Other option: boot your linux distro or a Live CD and use ntfs-3g Linux driver to transfer data. |
