| | opening word or works documents I've sent a document written in Word 2003 to my girlfriend, who attempted to open it with Vista, unsuccesfully. I then tried sending it written in Works (wps), but again, it would not open. Any ideas? |

| | Re: opening word or works documents If your girlfriend does not have Microsoft Word or Works installed, then ask her to download and install the free Microsoft Word Viewer: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en Please note: With Word Viewer 2003, you can view, print, and copy document contents to another program. However, you cannot edit an open document, save a document, or create a new document. -- Carey Frisch Microsoft MVP Windows - Shell/User ---------------------------------------------------------------------------Â*----- "wenzel" wrote: I've sent a document written in Word 2003 to my girlfriend, who attempted to open it with Vista, unsuccesfully. I then tried sending it written in Works >(wps), but again, it would not open. Any ideas? One doesn't open a document in Vista, or in any operating system. One opens it in the appropriate application for that document. If your girlfriend can not open a Word or Works document, it's likely that she has neither Word nor Works installed. Tell her to download and install the free Word viewer at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en or http://tinyurl.com/5ye9c Then resend the Word file to her. -- Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP Windows - Shell/User Please Reply to the Newsgroup |
