Vista - Video card questions

The MS Vista evaluator says my XP home system is fine with a Radeon 9250.
The ATI and NVIDIA sites both say this card needs v.2.0 of pixel and vertex
shaders which it does not. Question 1: will the 9250 run the Vista Aero
interface acceptably?

Question 2: if I don't play 3D games will Vista Aero run "better" on higher
end cards or will the minimum acceptable configuration (according to the ATI
or NVIDIA evaluators) be sufficient?

Thanks. (Haven't decided to move to Vista yet but have it on my new laptop
and it is kinda purty:-)

If you don't have pixel shader 2, you don't get Aero at all. The only
visually noticable diferences is the lack of glass borders and loss of flip
3d.
