Freezes After Being In Sleep Mode

Hi. When I close the lid on my laptop, it goes to sleep, then when I open the
lid, i see the screen with my username. So I click on my name and then
nothing happens, it just freezes. I have a Gateway MX6912. Thanks!

Where did you buy the laptop? Did it come with Vista installed?

I bought it from HSN about a year ago. It came with XP but is labeled Vista
Compatable. I purchased Vista Home Premium a little while ago.

Can you check the Event logs to see if there is any more detail error
    recorded?

Start/Orb, type event, click Event Viewer

I looked, but don't see anything related. FYI, any programs I have downloaded
such as instant messsengers, video player, etc. are Vista Compatable. If that
    helps at all.

That's most likely not important. One last thing I'd like you to try before
    suggesting another source of help...

Look here and follow the instructions carefully -

Post back and let us know.

Re: Freezes After Being In Sleep Mode

OK, you need to get more expert help.

So, ask again on the microsoft.public.windows.vista.hardware_devices
    community newsgroup.

You can continue using the web interface... (look for hardware), but it's
maybe time to learn more about newsgroups.

    http://groups.google.co.uk/group/mic...topics?lnk=srg

will get you started, but eventually you should switch over to using a
    newsreader to access such newsgroups....

    http://www.newsgroupservers.net/usen...ewsreaders.htm

Vista has built-in Windows Mail which you can easily set up to use as a
    newsreader.

    Good luck.
