Blocked Programs

I am running Dell Vista Ultimate and everytime it is booted, I get this
message:
"Windows has blocked some startup programs"

The one that shows as blocked is the "System Configuration Utility"
I opened this and the only one showing as "not permitted" is "Common SDK"
which I believe is a Roxio file.

What I would like to know is either how to unblock the Common SDK or stop
the popup completely.

Any help is appreciated

Re: Blocked Programs

The problem with the 'blocked program option' is that, if it is an
application that always loads you will be constantly prompted. I did come
across a fix to disable this option altogether, but it is really for the
more advanced user. Visit this link on my website
http://vistasupport.mvps.org/run_blo...p_programs.htm
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and look at the paragraph titled
'Note'. Right at the bottom you will find a link to the site for the
workaround. I should point out that I haven't tried it myself, simply
because I don't get the blocked program problem - other than adobe update
manager - but this is only during updating of Adobe Acrobat and Photoshop so
it is no real inconvenience to me, but I believe the workaround has been
used successfully by others.

Hi Jerry,

You can just check the box for "Common SDK" and click OK in "msconfig" to allow it to startup and thus getting rid of the notification. Another option would be to uninstall the program associated with it, if you don't want to use the program anymore.

Hope this helps,
Shawn
