| | WMI Error code 0x8004100a I have tried to install onecare on Vista. I have not had any luck, after talking to tech suport for onecare they have determined it is a Vista error. I need to reset the windows management instrumentation (WMI) database and this is a Vista support issue. I have not had any response from the windows team. the following is the code that resets the WMI and my error messages. C:\Users\hanson>wmic /NAMESPACE:\\root path "__namespace.name='wmi'" delete ERROR: Code = 0x8004100a Description = Facility = (null) C:\Users\hanson>mofcomp %windir%\system32\wbem\wmi.mof Microsoft (R) MOF Compiler Version 6.0.6000.16386 Copyright (c) Microsoft Corp. 1997-2006. All rights reserved. Parsing MOF file: C:\Windows\system32\wbem\wmi.mof MOF file has been successfully parsed Storing data in the repository... An error occurred while opening the namespace for object 1 defined on lines 15 - 18: Error code: 0x8004100ACompiler returned error 0x8004100a I am running in the cmd as administrator. any ideas on how to reset the WMI data base? Any sugestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance |

| | RE: WMI Error code 0x8004100a One care is really not worth installing, IMO. However, try right clicking on the install file and Run as Administrator. | | RE: WMI Error code 0x8004100a I did all of that. As part of Method 3 I was to Run the WMIC removal. That is what is erroring and why the onecare suport said it was a Vista error and not suported under onecare. I still dont know how to run the method three and have it run succesfuly.
