Vista - DM not working

When I shrink drive C:, it gives an error mesage: tells me it can't do it
and I need to look at event viewer. So I go to Event Viewer and see event ID
11 has to do with authroot.stl from windows update. I have no idea what
that is or how to fix it or if that's what is causing DM to not shrink my
drive. Also there is event ID 7000 which says McAfee Real time scanner
failed to start as it can't find the path. I had uninstalled Mcafee which
came bundled on my notebook. Also dhcp-client id 1002 and 1003. And 7001 and
7026, there's a bunch of other errors. Should I reformat?

do not know if it related to mcafee or not, but the only really secure way to insure you have uninstalled mcafee is to run the uninstaller from the mcafee web site.
you might do that at this point and see if things improve.

I used BootItNG to resize and everything is fine - no error messages, even
DM works now.
