Vista - no answer 4 that launch problem in the startmenu?

searching 4 answers in this forum, I can see that I am not the only one
having dead shortcuts in the Vista startmenu. No self placed shortcuts and no
recent used shortcuts are responding anymore! I read many difficult things to
try but does anybody know why this happens and how we can fix or avoid this
bug?!

If the shortcuts are "dead", just delete them.

I have almost the same problem (dead shortcuts in Startmenu), but only for my
Office 2000 shortcuts. It is only a problem in the "Resent used program" list
and the "Favorite" list. If I thoose "All programs" my shortcuts to Office
2000 works fine.
(Just delete them is no usable answer)
