Windows Explorer-HELP

There must be something SERIOUSLY wrong with my laptop.

When I started it up today, a box popped up telling me that "Windows
Explorer has stopped working" and proceeds to try and find the solution to
the problem. After a couple seconds it says that "Windows Explorer is
restarting".

It then works for 5 seconds and then repeats the process, and is still doing
it as I type this.

I have scan my whole computer, removed the malicious software it detected,
restarted my computer, but nothing is working.

I can't get to any applications such as my control panel to remove anything.

I hope there is enough information for someone to help me.

I would appreciate any suggestions of how to figure this out.

Thank you.

Re: Windows Explorer-HELP

Look in Control Panel > Problem Reports and Solutions for a clue. If nothing
makes sense, there is a Copy to clipboard link at the bottom of the Problem
Details window (after you select View problem history and right click on a
problem), and you can past into a new response to your original message.

You can try to get to Event Viewer under Administrative Tools on the Start
Menu or in Control Panel. If you are unable to do so, try booting into Safe
Mode. Start the computer, at the first screen, start tapping F8, at the
menu, choose Safe Mode and check Event Viewer as outlined above. Click the
plus sign next Applications, go to the various sections looking for errors,
the information contained within those errors, EventID, source, application,
etc. may give a clue as to the source of the issue.

Note: when you next boot to the Vista desktop, the Aero theme may be
deselected and you will see a visual change as a result. Just right click a
blank space on the desktop, select Personalize and reset your desktop as
desired.
