Trouble installing Flash in IE7 on Vista.

My IE7 is not installing the Flash Player. I go to

http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/downl...ShockwaveFlash

Run the install, allow the add-on Active-X control to install, and I can
then see that is installed as the animation plays on the install page. I
then get a message telling me I need to restart IE7, which I do.

However if I then go to a webpage that needs flash it won't display the
content and redirects me back to adobe's install page...

No problem on Firefox. So, curious what I am missing/doing wrong in IE7.

Doing wrong? You are using it with Vista

Heh, having just gone through the Flash installation process last
night.. I can tell you that it does work. However, I had to install
it twice. This is probably not normal, and indicative of a step both
you and I missed. The first time, I allowed the activeX application
and was brought to the display the animation page with no success. I
closed the browser and went back to the install page. This time after
allowing the ActiveX I got my UAC black screen of fear then the
installation went most excellently. So my only advice (and the
solution for my installation) would be to try and install it again.

Re: Trouble installing Flash in IE7 on Vista.

I've been through the sequence a few times - and it does display the
confirmation animation after install - trouble is it seems to lose ability
whenever I navigate to another page. The Add-in manager show Flash
installed, yet IE7 doesn't use it when required. Firefox on Vista works fine
with it's flash plug-in.

Re: Trouble installing Flash in IE7 on Vista.

Found a solution after asking in the internetexplorer.general ng.

Try the following to resove the issue.

Navigate to the following folder:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash

Doubleclick on the following file in that folder and allow it to run:
"FlashUtil9c.exe"

Good luck,

Donald Anadell
