| | Re: Advanced interface to Windows Firewall found a program that managed the in/out filter rules for you. much easier than trying to create them yourself. VistaFirewallControl-Setup-x64.exe this is the one I used, there should be a similar for 32 bit. mikeyhsd@comcast.net "DefecTalisman" <defectalisman@vodamail.co.za> wrote in message news:AF970AAE-B27A-403E-965E-343B0DA64CF4@microsoft.com... There are two interfaces for Vistas built-in firewall: A simplified one accessed through the Control Panel that is the only one most people see. And the more advanced "Windows Firewall with Advanced Security (WF.msc)," accessed via the Start Menu's Administrative Tools folder, for the experienced user who wants better control. -- Bruce Chambers Help us help you: http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. -Benjamin Franklin Many people would rather die than think; in fact, most do. -Bertrand Russell |

| | Re: Advanced interface to Windows Firewall google for it and download it. only problem I found with it, is the changes made are not automatically applied. you have to exit the program you change the rules for and run it again for the rules to apply./ mikeyhsd@comcast.net "DefecTalisman" <defectalisman@vodamail.co.za> wrote in message news:37D4956D-5B76-44FA-AA6E-CA6E62B5E9AD@microsoft.com...
