Vista Tutorial - Games Explorer game won't update

I have Vista Premium 64bit, my partitions were messed up so I installed it to
play about with and back stuff up from my old partitions to format fully,
during this I installed Medieval 2 Total War to which the games explorer
automatically picked it up and added it with box art etc.

However on this install, games explorer has not added it automatically, it
won't seem to no matter what I run the game from (shortcut / direct exe /
auto-play form cd) I can only make it work from games explorer by dragging
the short cut into games explorer but this doesn't auto-update it with the
box art and just has a nasty little icon in the middle.

Anyway to make games explorer auto search for a particular game or
something?

I would image there is something the game creater has to do to say "Hey, I'm
a game! Put me in Games Explorer!". So I don't thing there is much you can
do.

Thats the thing, it did pick it up on the last vista install before I
formatted again to setup my partitions properly, now it just seems fudged -
the only thing I can think of is that it has a little menu launcher for the
game with the latest patch, it doesn't go straight into it
