Since this is a forum where people generally come to get help with a
problem, you would expect just about every thread to start with a message
containing one or more of your terms. Since the terms are not associated
with any particular category of problem (video, specific programs, Vista
version, hardware platforms), there is nothing you will really be able to
derive from this, other than what people's favorite word is to describe
their quandry.
A valid study of Vista and probelem reports would be quite an undertaking.
It might be interesting.
Interview a large sampling of people using Vista. Data to collect:
Version of Vista
Factory installed, Certified Upgrade, Self done upgrade, Clean
install.......
Hardware (CPU, RAM, Video.....)
Major installed software used
How long used, how much per day
Problems experienced - type, severity, ease of remedy
If Vista has been sold or installed on millions(?) of PCs already, you
probably need to interview several thousand to get good datapoints that will
be relevant to the various combinations possible. I could ask my stats
professor boss for a better estimate, but you could get started today and
I'll get back to you.
