| | Norton AntiVirus 2007 turned off Vista Security Center Ok, I've read a number of... ahem... comments here about Norton. I still want to give it a try, I have it, what the heck. I installed Norton AntiVirus 2007. Now, my systray has a dialog whenever I log in that says "The Security Center serivce is turned off". When I click on it, it has a button for turning it on, but it won't start. (This is a clean Vista install, there is nothing added to it except Firefox and Norton AV 2007). Anyway, I did read from a Vista window that firewalls conflict with each other and only one should be used. I guess Norton AV 2007 is including a firewall now? So I'm not surprised that it isn't playing nicely with Vista Security Center and turned it off. How can I get Vista to recognize NAV2007 and thus not complain about not having any firewall protection? |

| | RE: Norton AntiVirus 2007 turned off Vista Security Center hi there -- i'm running nav 2007 aswell and not having any problems at all .All i can suggest is to make sure windows fire wall is turned of you can do this in the security center or in ''services'' although when i installed nav2007 it automaticaly turned windows fw off possibly because my machine came with a 60 day trial pre installed .It must also be said that nav2007 is the best norton to date , it does work despite what you might read elsewere usually it just sits in the background doing what it's told i have no complaints . martyb "mpkb" wrote: > Ok, I've read a number of... ahem... comments here about Norton.
