| | Change default security setting? I just bought my 1st Vista computer and actually like it better than I thought that I would. One thing that is driving my nuts is how it keeps asking for a confirmation for every little thing (it seems) i.e. "Did you really tell this program to start? Click to continue..." (paraphrasing). I'm sure there is a setting somewhere I can turn this off. Help please. Thanks in advance... Bob |

If you are telling me I need to go to six seperate web addresses to find the answer (you don't SAY anything in the reply) I think you are missing the point of what newsgroups are for. | | RE: Change default security setting? This falls under User Account Control (UAC). This feature can be turned off, however, it is not recommended. Learn more under Help & Support. To turn off: Go to Start -> Control Panel -> User Accounts and Family Safety -> User Accounts -> Turn User Account Control On or Off. Hope this helps. | | Re: Change default security setting? Thanks PS, I appreciate it. Do you have an opinion on using this Tweak-UAC to "have your cake and eat it too". | | Re: Change default security setting? Bob, I looked at it for the first time now and I don't think I'm going to bother installing that. I really don't know anything about the credibility of the source. It may be good but I'm going to leave mine on as recommended. Just don't want to disturb the status quo.
