| Guest | Host process for Windows keeps crashing/restarting Ok, this is actually several questions, but this is the most annoying one. I am running Windows Vista Ultimate on an AMD 2900+ with 2gb physical ram and a geforce 7600 gs video card with 512mb ram. I keep getting Windows errors saying that the Host process for Windows has stopped working and was closed. I have the log file, and can post it if anybody wants to take a look at it, but any ideas on how to fix this would be appreciated. Also Internet Explorer, Limewire and Azureus will randomly crash, and Norton AntiVirus will sometimes say that it can't run. This has been going on about a week or so, and I haven't installed any new software besides windows updates during that time. Last bit is that searchindexer.exe and svchost.exe were running constantly, each taking up around 48-50% of the CPU time each, (100% cpu usage) until I stopped the Windows Search service. I feel that all of these are related, as they all started happening about the same time, and due to the lack of error codes that I could find, makes it rather harder for me to troubleshoot on my own. Anyway, thanks for any advice on trying to fix this problem --Tommy Vielkanowitz |
