Mouse problems

Hi guys I have a cheap walmart mouse that worked perfectly until about 15
minutes ago. I have updated nothing. Downloaded nothing. Installed
nothing. The scroll wheel simply stopped working It works if you click it
for fast full screen movement, and everything wlse is fine....just not the
scroll wheel. I know the mouse isn't bad, I plugged it into my laptop and it
works fine. I haven't tried uninstalling because I don't have another mouse
to use while this one is out and I was afraid no drive would render me
mouse-less and stuck. I did try to update the drivers but everything is
current/
